About us:

Dear readers,

Greetings! This is how COMAC was born, what we have accomplished and how we got this far.

First of all, COMAC is created by the community, aware of its long-neglected needs, wishing to fulfill a dream of a NGO to channel all social work and acquire the proper official status for grant-applications.

Early 2005 we finished the process before the Mexican Federal Government, and had our Constituency Letter as a non-profit, Non-Government Organization named "Comunidad Metropolitana" (Metropolitan Community), as notarized since 27 October, 2005.  We now have all government approval to operate as a NGO, and we are undergoing the process to issue tax-deductible receipts for all donations.

From its inception, COMAC has organized several public rallies about proper use of condom, has given away thousands of brochures with information about sexully-transmitted diseases at parks and plazas, night clubs and discos, public hospitals and public high schools. We have also shared such work with other social-service organizations whom we keep a close relationship with.

We look forward to continue growing and applying programs for this large community, based in Monterrey, a nearly 6-million metroplex in northeast Mexico.

Many thanks for considering a donation to COMAC. Every single project we've had, has been funded by Federal and State's agencies like the National AIDS Council. However, the needs greatly surpass our capacities to cover them. We accept equipment, food, health and cleaning items, etc., as well as checks. Thanks in advance for whatever amount you heart moves you to give. International transfer of funds are to the following accounts: cuentas No. 055876099-3 / 055772772-0 at Banorte Bank,  Palacio branch, for Comunidad Metropolitana, A.C.
