The HIV-AIDS propagation rate in the state, keeps on growing and growing
among youths.
Given such situation, COMAC proposed and got approval from the State's AIDS
Committee to publish a magazine exclusively for youngsters, male and female
students. This is how TOC-TOC (knock-knock) was born, to gradually include
articles about sexuality and STI's prevention.
TOC-TOC has been distributed at some high schools in town, where COMAC has
also set information desks about use of condom, with a huge success. Adolescents
use an anonymous mailbox to leave their questions and comments about sex
education and prevention, providing an interesting insight about extreme
hypothetical situations about what they'd do if facing a STI.
The magazine contains several sections for males and females, and the obvious,
overall goal is to create awareness about protection, while not overlooking
abstinence and examining peer relations and boyfriend/girlfriend issues, as well
as many other involving factors for a better, healthier life.
Many thanks to COESIDA for their support for this project! |
